Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is designed to help individuals develop strategies to live more fully in the present, focusing on meaningful values and goals rather than being dominated by painful thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Through the use of acceptance and mindfulness techniques, ACT promotes self-compassion, psychological flexibility, and the ability to engage with and overcome challenges. This approach empowers individuals to build life-enhancing patterns of behaviour and move toward a more fulfilling life.
CBT Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a proven, effective approach that helps with many psychological difficulties. Working together, we'll explore how thoughts and behaviours affect your well-being and develop practical skills to help you overcome current challenges.
CFT
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) is a psychological approach that aims to reduce distress and psychological difficulties while increasing happiness, well-being, and personal flourishing. The primary goal of CFT is to cultivate the skills and attributes of compassion, enabling individuals to approach their challenges with wisdom and care. CFT helps individuals cultivate their compassionate minds, enabling them to approach life’s challenges in a wise and constructive way. This approach fosters compassion in three directions: toward others, receiving compassion from others, and extending compassion to oneself (self-compassion).
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a comprehensive psychotherapy approach designed to help you process and recover from past experiences that impact your mental health and well-being. It involves structured sessions and helps you process and resolve negative images, emotions, beliefs, and physical sensations associated with traumatic memories that may feel stuck, contributing to various mental health challenges. EMDR enables you to view these memories from a new perspective, alleviating distress and relieving the symptoms you have been experiencing. It is a powerful approach to working with trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.
IFS INFORMED WORK
Internal Family Systems. The framework views us as naturally containing different "parts" that work together like a family system, each with distinct roles, emotions, and beliefs. This inherent multiplicity of the mind is viewed as natural and beneficial. Parts can be pushed into extreme roles, similar to how family dynamics can force members into certain positions. The core "Self" is seen as an undamageable essence present in everyone. This Self has innate healing capabilities.
